PS5 games have already made their mark on the industry. With new games such as the Rainbow Six Extraction, Sifu, and Dying Light 2, which have all been released this February and gaining momentum, we can only think about what the best PS6 games will do.
So, sit tight and get your wallet ready because some of the PS5 games will most likely be playable on PS6. I’m going to share some of my favorite picks that may get released this year or beyond.
Here’s a list of games I’d like to see released for PS6:
- Forspoken
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
- Star Trek: Resurgence
- Stray
- Sonic Frontiers
1. Forspoken
Developed by Square Enix, especially for PS5, the Forspoken is a game set in a land that somewhat looks like Mordor of the Lord of the Rings. You’ll have to leap from tree to tree and beyond to save yourself from wolves and whatnot, not to mention attack them with your earned abilities. The game looks promising enough to adorn the game shelves for your PS6. Need I mention that the storyline is being overlooked by Gary Whitta of the Star Wars: Rogue One?
2. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
This one is a conundrum of two early releases by Sony Interactive Entertainment: The Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy. You may have played both. If not, know that you’ll be taken through Drake’s journey in the former with Nadine and Chloe taking you through their treacherous paths in the latter. Get ready to experience adventure in the thick forests of Madagascar.
3. Startrek: Resurgence
Action-packed and dramatic, the Startrek: Resurgence is set in the times when two alien races are ready to lock horns. The mystery involving the chance of that is what makes the chunk of the game. The storyline has been woven around two leading characters: Jara Rydek, First Officer, and Carter Diaz, an Engineer onboard. Characters of various races crisscross in the storyline. I simply can’t wait for this one since I’m a die-hard fan of Star Wars.
4. Stray
Ever wanted to play as an animal in an open-world game? With Stray, you get that chance. You’ll be a cat exploring and surviving in a world dominated by robots. This kind of rings the bell for me. The Three Robots episode of Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots has a similar story – the difference is only in you, the cat, being the protagonist rather than the villain.
5. Sonic Frontiers
How about a Sonic game with bigger worlds? Sounds interesting. The Sonic Frontiers is such a game planned to be released in the Holidays this year or the next. The same Sonic you love will dash through Starfall Islands. There will be no restrictions on your movements unless, of course, you encounter a grave danger.
6. Gotham Knights
Batman’s dead in the new dynamic and highly interactive Gotham City to date. Now, it’s up to Batgirl, Red Hood, Nightwing, and Robin to counter the evil of Mr. Freeze, and possibly, Court of Owls. WB Games Montreal has reportedly put everything into making it worthwhile. You’ll get the feels of Batman: Arkham but it’s more than this. For one, the storyline is completely different. It’s original and not based on any DC comic. So, there will be surprises along the path or gameplay and you’ll love it for sure.
7. Goodbye Volcano High
Beyond serious art or graphics and bloody gameplay, there are games that edge on the feel-good category. The Goodbye Volcano High is going to be one of them. This one is a reboot, remastered, and thus, a completely different version of the earlier game announced. The non-binary protagonist’s story advances in a choice-based scenario. With new writers at the back of it, I believe this game will be a true entertainer.
8. The Lord of The Rings: Gollum
Speak of the devil and here it is. The Lord of The Rings: Gollum has a storyline based on Gollum, as you’d expect from the name. Daedalic Entertainment has put forward a release that will let you play as this character with dual personalities. From the prison in Barad-dur to the open worlds with larger-than-life quests, the game will make PS6 worth it for you.
Best PS6 Games – Conclusion
Although PS6 hasn’t been released yet, we can argue that its games will make your investment worthwhile. The existing PS5 games are already making a mark and much like most of the games, you’ll see their extensions making it to the PS6. I’ve listed my favorite games or the games I want to see in PS6 above.
